The Rectorate of Bielefeld University has officially adopted an OA policy
based on the Berlin Declaration (October 2003)

In the
spirit of these declarations the Rectorate of Bielefeld University:
1. Strongly requests the scientific authors of the University to deposit
a copy of all published and refereed articles in the e-Scholarship
Repository of the University, if there are no legal objections by
publishers. The University acknowledges that a significant percentage
of publishers support already institutional self-archiving
actions by their authors.
2. Encourages and supports scientific
authors of the University to publish in Open Access journals.
The upcoming e-Scholarship Repository will be a new server to be set up
in addition to the already existing Institutional Repository (BieSOn,
